Downtown rooftops seen straight down from above, the camera turning slowly

Film · Good Time · 2019

A movie, a coffee. A good time.

A spontaneous afternoon with Stoven: a daytime movie, a coffee run, and a night out downtown. Will calls it a reminder that leading well also means knowing when to enjoy the moment. Shot and cut by Will into 10 minutes, with the city seen from straight above.

02 · From above

The city, straight down.

Between the scenes the camera goes up and looks straight down. Rooftops, crosswalks and parked cars turn into a pattern, and the film uses them like chapter breaks.

The moving frame at the top of the page is a rooftop at 1:52. It plays without sound; the film itself is below.

03 · Stylish by night

He started out cold. He ended stylish.

That is how Will sums up Stoven at the end of the film. By night he is in a pale suit, on an old phone, then leaning over a pool table in a red lit room.
