Becoming a mother again.
Laura gets ready to welcome their sixth child. The film spends its first act on the evening before: a drive through bare trees, the pizza she wanted for her last dinner, a bed made for coming home to, and the drive in after dark.
The night before. Most of the film is the waiting. The page stays there, with Laura in the moments she chose to share.

01 · The span
Daylight, dinner, then the dark.
Six frames in film order, with the film time under each. The color tells the evening: grey afternoon, warm lamps at home, red lights on the road.

02 · On the way
Bare trees, a long road.
The camera rides along. Out the windshield, the road runs through winter woods and onto the highway; in the driver’s seat, Will turns the lens on himself.

03 · The last dinner
She wanted pizza. She got pizza.
A small, true detail the film keeps: the last dinner before the hospital is the one she was craving, shot close enough to smell.

04 · Home, made ready
A made bed to come home to.
Before they leave, Laura makes the bed so it is waiting when they get back. The room glows red and amber, the warmest light in the film.

05 · The night drive
Red lights, quiet car.
The drive in happens after dark. The film lets it play slow, tail lights and traffic signals, before the hospital doors.

06 · The cut
72 shots in 8:11.
Every bar below is one shot, as wide as it runs on screen. Fewer cuts than the earlier birth films, and longer looks: this one is patient.
Counted with scene detection (ffmpeg, a cut wherever the scene score passes 0.35) on the 1080p copy of the film. Soft dissolves and quick flashes can read differently, so treat it as a close count, not an exact one.
