01 · At home

Following, not staging.

It starts where her day does. Much of the film is shot handheld beside her, in the kitchen, behind the wheel, walking into a gallery. The camera keeps pace with her day instead of arranging it.

02 · The road

Much of it happens on the way.

The camera rides beside her. Between one room and the next, she talks it through behind the wheel, and the film lets her.

03 · The rooms

Into the galleries, and back out.

Handheld and close, the film follows her into the city’s gallery spaces and out onto the street to talk about what she saw. Speaking straight to camera, she carries the argument of the film, and plain walls with steady framing keep the attention on what she is saying.

04 · Other hands

Other artists, other hands.

The story widens to the makers around her. A paper marbling studio gets its own scene: ink floating on the bath, combs drawn through it, color lifted off.

Every bar below is one shot, as wide as it runs on screen. The pace is quick where she is moving and opens up where she stops to talk.
