01 · The span

The drive in. The way home.

Seven frames in film order, with the film time under each: gas on the way, the road in, the long wait in lamp light, and home again.

02 · In her words

She tells it plainly.

Laura talks about the losses before this pregnancy and the worry that came with it, without softening any of it. The film holds on her and lets her finish.

03 · The two of them

Two people, one long wait.

Will is in the film too: in the mirror with the camera up, and on the bed beside her while the hours pass. The waiting is the story.

04 · The light

Then the room turns gold.

The film is shot in the light the room had: a storm in the window, a single lamp, and at the turn of the story, sun flaring across the frame.

05 · Home

The film doesn’t stop at the hospital.

It follows them home, where Laura is honest about how hard the first weeks were and how busy the house stayed. The ending is tired and real, not tidy.

06 · The cut

152 shots in nine minutes.

Every bar below is one shot, as wide as it runs on screen. Fast music driven runs at the start and end, and long holds where Laura is talking.

Each bar is one shot, in film order; the median shot runs 1.5 seconds

Counted with scene detection (ffmpeg, a cut wherever the scene score passes 0.35) on the 1080p copy of the film. Soft dissolves and quick flashes can read differently, so treat it as a close count, not an exact one.
