Dr. King’s by King Bio · Wholesale orders

A new account, ordered on the same call.

After wholesale moved to Shopify’s own B2B, a practitioner who called to open an account could wait up to an hour for wholesale pricing. Now it attaches in about 30 seconds, while they are still on the phone.

  • 60 minthe longest a new account could wait for wholesale pricing before.
  • ~30 secfrom adding the company to ready to order, tested live.
  • 1 callthe order is taken while the new account is still on the phone.
  • ~95%of the 20 doctors put in on day one went through without a hitch.

01 · The wait

The price was right. Just an hour late.

Wholesale pricing reached a new account on an hourly sync. So when a new practitioner called to place a first order, the order customer service started on the call priced at retail.

  • Retail on the callA first order started at the wrong price.
  • CallbacksTake the details, hang up, call back once pricing landed.
  • Doubt in the new systemTo the team it looked broken, right after the move.

02 · The fix

Priced the moment it exists.

One Shopify Flow, live since October 30. When customer service creates a new company location, the Flow places it straight into the wholesale market, which carries the price list and the order-size discount tiers.

Safety netThe hourly syncs stayed on. They catch anything the Flow misses and still handle the rarer higher tiers. The same pass restored the wholesale catalog to its market, put back a missing order-size tier and confirmed customer service had every permission it needs for draft orders and companies.

03 · The proof

Tested live, with customer service on the line.

On November 2 a test wholesale account was added the way a phone order runs. Within 30 seconds it sat in the wholesale market with the wholesale catalog, and Create order was ready. A real new account added the same morning got the same treatment on its own.

Store figures blurred. Only the test account appears; real accounts are left out.

  • Test account priced in about 30 seconds
  • Real new account priced on its own
  • New retail customer added without trouble

04 · Day one

Twenty doctors in. One snag.

The same afternoon, customer service put the Flow to work on real phone orders.

“Good news, I just put in 20 doctors and I only had trouble with 1.”

“…that thing boots up in like a mil second.”
